Happy Monday and thank you for subscribing to the Spam Resource
newsletter!
Al Iverson here, and it's been a fun week in email land. Here's what's
been going on lately.
First, Google
just announced support for Common Mark Certificates for
BIMI logo display. This makes a Gmail-compatible BIMI logo easier to
obtain than in times past. TL;DR, CMC drops the trademarked logo
requirement of the current BIMI VMC process. But there's more to learn
about it, both for you and for me, so stay tuned for more details.
Next, if you're the right kind of email geek, you might already be a
member of the Email Geeks slack community. I hope you are! And if you
are, you should join us on the #email-dmarc channel, created
specifically as a place to ask questions and learn about DMARC and email
authentication. DMARC lives in a Venn diagram between
deliverability and email security, so I thought it might make sense to
dedicate a bit of space to it, with the permission of the admins of the
community. So c'mon over to check it out, and please say hi if you
do!
And finally, next month, if you work for an ESP or work in email marketing,
you might want to consider attending the ESPC fall meeting in Washington, DC.
This is a single day event is free and open to the public, with sessions on
the topics of email privacy legal challenges, DMARC and email authentication,
open and click tracking challenges, the evolution of the Spamhaus blocklist,
the latest BIMI changes at Gmail, and more! I'll be there and I hope to see you there,
too! More details.
And finally, my deep thought for today: How does a Jedi track and
organize his leads? He uses the Sales Force. And now, the news.
Who hosts mail for more domains: Microsoft or Google?
Time to slice and dice my favorite dataset: the top ten million domains
list. This thing provides me with endless fun and joy. Tracking
something over time provides unique insight into growth of mail
provider reach, authentication protocol reach, insight into which
providers are biggest or most represented in the upper echelon of ...

IFAQ: Where I answer Infrequently Asked Questions about Cold Leads
I get asked periodically for tips and tricks, best practices for cold
lead emails. The question came again just a few days ago. Thing is, I
don't have anything like that, because cold lead emails just aren't a
practice compatible with long term, solidly positive deliverability and
good inbox placement.

Google announces support for CMCs with BIMI
Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) is a cool protocol
that allows senders to publish a logo to be displayed along with their
email messages in supported email clients, webmail platforms and mobile
applications. I believe it helps boost engagement, and I feel that it
also helps to drive trust, given that BIMI requires that a domain be ...

Tiny Tip Tuesday: Gmail remediation is slower!
This week's Tiny Tip Tuesday is just something that I've observed, and
that other people have observed, and asked me about. When comparing
notes, we've found that we're all seeing clients run into this issue.
And the issue is: It's taking longer to resolve Gmail spam folder
issues compared to years past. And the point if me sharing this here on ...
